Pome purple-black, ~1 cm diameter; peduncles, branchlets and
abaxial leaf surfaces pubescent. Growing on Old Montauk
Highway in wetland on edge of The Sanctuary Preserve with
Clethra alnifolia, Rhododendron viscosum, Nyssa sylvatica,
Vaccinium corymbosum, Ilex verticillata, and Viburnum dentatum
var. venosum.
