Treelet 3 - 4m x 4 cm diam.,or ± scandent shrub overhanging roadside from damp embankment, bark pale grey-brown; young foliage olive- green with a slight red tinge, glossy on both faces, mature leaves discolorous, dark blue-green dull above, pale yellow-green ±glossy below; calyces pale green with blood-red lobes, petals fleshy, white, anthers yellow.
