    Herb, 25-30 cm tall, in separate clump; stipes articulate, with scales and without trichomes, cross-section shows 2 larger adaxial vascular bunles and 3 small abaxial bundles; fronds bipinnate, the rachis canaliculate, the pinnules markedly serrate.
