Locally commonin shallow water of a stream.
Open altiplano plain with evidence of salt accumulation; some
areas of rough, sparse pasture, others with cultivation and
houses, some small, brackish streams.
Rhizomatous sedge forming extensive beds. Stems to c 80cm.
Anthers yellowish, glumes dark brown.
