GUYANA. Cuyuni-Mazaruni. Kako River vicinity, above Kako Village,
near Camp 3, ca. 22 air km east of Tulameng summit (summit 1534m, N
5°33'27.1", W 60°59'34.7"). 493 m. 5°33'33.5"N 60°46’55.2"W. White
sand savanna with sandstone rock outcrops. Dimorphandra dominant on
shrub islands and drier parts. Grading to wet areas with standing water.
Central part recently burned. Erect herb growing in wet places, forming
dense, deeply rooted clumps. Leaf bases chestnut brown. Leaves narrow.
Inflorescence scapose to 0.5m. Margins of bracts whitish, flowers
yellow. Blooming in AM. Silica sample.
