Montane cloud forest. Quercus copeyensis, Q. seemannii. Gregarious to subcespitose. On soil.

Description
Pileus 4-9 cm broad, convex with a depressed disc and inrolled margin, soon with disc more depressed and margin decurved, viscid especially at margin, matted tomentose, white at margin, brownish yellow (5B-C6-5-4) toward disc; margin not bearded but coarsely and irregularly sulcate at first, lobed with age. Flesh up to 15 mm thick, quite firm, white, unchanging, with mild odor and a barely perceptible acrid taste. Lamellae subdecurrent to decurrent, distant to subdistant, thick and broad, (4A-B5-4), with thick creamy latex, not changing in time, not marginate. Stipe 2-7 cm long, 15-30 mm broad, equal or tapering downward, viscid at first, soon dry, often glabrous, rarely scrobiculate, white and shiny, not felty, developing brownish yellow stains from handling; interior white soon hollow, otherwise firm-fleshed. Latex does not stain white paper yellow.
