Communa San Jacinto de Pindo. Road to Cotococha, off
Puyo-Macas road. Elev. 825. Epiphytic tree, ca. 6m tall,
attached to host tree ca. 6m above ground. Peduncles
slightly flattened and angled, elongating with age, tapering
basally; outer floral bracts green, foliaceous, proximally
appressed; inner floral bracts much smaller, rounded
apically; hypanthium and calyx yellow-green, the calyx
becoming red with age; petals lavender-pink, darker along
margin; stamens in a ring, filaments white, anthers yellow,
rugose, the appendages upturned; style yellow, slightly
curving apically. Sweetly fragrant. Uncommon.
