submerged swamp to burned savanna to wet savanna and semi-scrub.
Erect herb in scrub savanna. Mucilage present. Leaves to lm.
Inflorescence scapose. Scape flared distally. Bracteoles stiff and prickly.
Involucral bracts brown and papery. Petals (3) bright yellow. Anthers
yellow. Head with persistent bracteoles. Silica sample.
