BASTROP CO.: rare in herbaceous vegetation in small
opening in loblolly pine - post oak forest on narrow convex
ridgetop underlain by Camzo Sand, on soils mapped as
deep, moderately well drained, neutral to slightly acid fine
sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs), 0.5 mi SW of
Hoppy Spring (the spring), ca. 1.1 airmiles S of jet. St. Rt.
21 and F. M. 1441 NE of Bastrop, at N30°08'08.1”,
W097°13’32.6”. Bastrop State Park. Smithville NW
Quadrangle. Elev. 470 ft. Area lightly burned during
Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011.
Associates included Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Brazoria truncata,
Cnidoscolus texanus, Gaillardia aestivalis, Helianthemum sp.,
Heterotheca subaxillaris, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Oenothera
heterophylla, Paronychia drurmnondii, Polycarpon tetraphyllum, Vulpia
octoflora.
