Small swampy areas on gently sloping land.
Ma^ulvoUiamnua specioaa, Heliamphora, Xyrid-
aoeae, ftriocaulaceae common. Soil a humus-
poor fine silty-sand. Swamp grading into
scrubland on more steeply sloping land, incl-
uding Bonnetia roraimae, Cyrilla racemiflora
2-10ft. high. Area windswept St often cloud-
covered, with frequent rain.
„ Xyridaceae
Common^ oocuring in mostly the subshrub
areas, with a + layer of humus, along with
bromeliads & Abolboda. Old leaves persisting j
at base, A with algae produce a brown slime;
as well as a colourless transparent slime,
seemingly produced by the plant, covering the
