Dichanthelium sphaerocarpon (Ell.) Gould
BASTROP CO.: locally common in weedy herbaceous
vegetation on bulldozed sand and clay along unshaded
severely disturbed margin of fairly large stock tank, in low
area on rolling landscape underlain by Carrizo Sand, E side
of Alum Creek on Hoppy Spring Tract, ca. 1.6 airmiles SSE
of jet. St. Rt. 21 and F. M. 1441 NE of Bastrop, at
N30°07'49.4”, W097°12’51.7”. Bastrop State Park.
Smithville NW Quadrangle. Elev. 440 ft. Area probably
not burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September
2011.
Associates included Facelis retusa, Hedeoma hispida, Helenium amarum,
Paspalum notatum, Plantago aristata, Sesbania vesicaria, Sisyrinchium
exile, S. rosulatum.
