BASTROP CO.: rare in rather open loblolly pine - post oak
forest on nearly level upland underlain by Reklaw
Formation, on soils mapped as deep moderately well drained
slightly acid fine sandy loam (Tabor Series, Aquic
Paleustalfs), ca. 50-400 ft. E of Harmon Road from a point
0.1 mi S of its jet. with Park Road 1, ca. 3.4-3.5 airmiles E
of jet. St. Rt. 21 and St. Rt. 95 in Bastrop, at N30°06'26.8”,
W097°14’59.2” and vicinity. E part of Bastrop State Park.
Bastrop Quadrangle. Elev. 520 ft. Area burned during
Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011.
Herbaceous plants scattered but abnormally large (due to fire?).
Associates included Acalypha monococca, Bulbostylis sp., Centrosema
virginianum, Chrysopsis pilosa, Commelina erecta, Cyperus spp., Diodia
teres, Helianthemum georgianum, H. rosmarinifolium, Heterotheca
subaxillaris, Hypericum gentianoides, Juncus marginatus, Lechea
mucronata, L. tenuifolia, Monarda punctata, Paspalum plicatulum,
Polypremum procumbens, Rudbeckia hirta.
