Small swampy areas on gently sloping land.
Maguirothamnus speciosa, Heliamphora, Xyrid-
aceae, Eriocaulaceae common. Soil a humus-
poor fine silty-sand. Swamp grading into
scrubland on more steeply sloping land, incl-
uding Bonnetia roraimae, Cyrilla racemiflora
2-10ft. high. Area windswept & often cloud-
covered, with frequent rain.
Xyris
Common loosely tufted to 30om, Shoots lat-
erally flattened, arohing through 20-4.0°.
Flowers rockrose (Helianthemura) yellow,&
of a similar delicate texture. Flower stems
ereot or subereot, Wirey, flexuous.
