N. Ridge escarpment of Mt„Roraima, c. 6,500fto-
1?,000ft.., centred on 5°I5'25"N.; 60°i44'50"W.
Dense scrub on steeply sloping land to the
base of the ’prow'of Roraima. Shrub species
included Bonnetia roraimac. C.yrilla racemiflora.
Drnimys A Stifftia, 2-I0ft. high. Soil a huinus-
poor fine silty-sand. Area windswept 1% often
cloud-covered, with frequent rain.
Xyridaoeae
In dense olumps amongst Bonnetia scrub.
Stock upright, leaves á whole shoot fla-
ttened, but seen in plan view shoot has
an ’S' ourve.Stock persisting & rooting
for 1ft.+ in sandy^wüsft substrate, runn-
ing diágion&lly. Petals yellow,Hellanth-
emum yellow & similar fragile texture.
