Description
Pileus 5-6.5 cm broad, convex, dry, velutinous at first, soon matted tomentose to matted subtomentose to finely areolate, lake red to garnet brown (9C-D6-5), bruising blue green, yellow where protected from sunlight; margin very slightly projecting and incurved. Flesh pale yellow, cyanescent, 12 mm thick, soon white, with mild odor and taste. Hymeophore tubulose, adnate to subdecurrent, cyanescent, shallow (4 mm); tubes yellow; pores dull yellow, small, some developing dull red tints. Stipe eccentric ro central, dry, pruinose to very subtley ridged, yellow to orange at apex, red to deep red below, yellow at base and subpubescent, cyanescent overall; interior yellow, solid and fibrous, cyanescent. NH4 – lemon yellow on red portions of pileus.
