Southern part of Sakhalin Island, on Sea of Okhotsk side. Environs
of Sokol Village. East of town in Belaya River Valley. 48m/157ft
47° 14.575'N, 142° 46.715' E
Old river bottom with Alnus canopy, at base of hill. Understory
dominated by 2.5 meter tall Cacalia auriculata and C. hastata, tall
ferns, and 1.5 meter tall Petasites leaves.
In fruit. Leaves and stems over 1 meter long. Common in boggy
I areas.
