Tropical evergreen forest, nearly
undisturbed, with some selective logging
of Swietenia macrophylla in the past.
"sinini de la selva" ["sinini" in the Santa
Cruz region is Annona muricata] Large tree,
25 m. tall, 75 cm. in diameter, with
butresses to 1.5 m. high; trunk smooth but
with horizontal leaf scars visible
throughout. Only fallen flowers; cut buds
with aromatic odor; petals pale creamy
yellow-green. Some old rotten fruits, the
outside irregularly splitting and separating
from the' core during drying; fruit not eaten.
