Depto. Tarija, Prov. Gran Chaco, 33.5 km (by highway) and
33 km (air) SE of Villa Montes on new highway to Isibobo and
Paraguay, measuring from the intersection in Villa Montes of
the Boyuibe-Yacuiba highway, at base of small hill ca. 25 m.
high, the western edge of the range of hills forming the
greatest topography in the region. Ca. 5.5 km N of Rio
Pilcomayo.
21°22’07”S, 63°09’50”W. alt. 350 m.
Chaco forest with Aspidosperma quebrachoblanco, A.
pyrifolium, Pseudobombax marginatum, Caesalpinia
paraguariensis, Anadenanthera macrocarpa, Schinopsis
lorentzii, Castela coccínea, Capparis salicifolia, C. speciosa,
C. tweediana, Ruprechtia triflora, R. apétala.
Common tree, 14 m. tall, 55 cm. in diameter; bark finely
quadrangular-flaky. Fruit bright red on wing, yellow-green on
part of the body.
