Wet tropical forest, steep mountainsides above and generally south
of Valle Nacional, along the highway to Oaxaca.
ca. ffliles "by road, from Valle Nacional,
near km. 115» valley in cloud forest, with
many large pines, elev. 2000 m. ; edge of
clearing, abundant.
Shrub to 2.5 m. high; inflorescences
drooping; calyx dull rose; petals white,
red-veined; fruit somewhat inflated.
