Sichuan Province, Litang Xian: Narrow side road off road
(Highway 318) from Yajiang to Litang at place called Gaowa by
local people, 30°10'6"N, 100°35'7"E; 4300-4350 m.
Kobresia-Bistorta meadows with extensive areas of dwarf (20-30
cm tall) Rhododendron and Salix scrub with Picea and tall
Rhododendron on lower slopes. Moist area in meadow. Stems red;
leaves adaxially dark green and shining, abaxially lighter green;
few remaining flowers with yellow petals.
