Moderate slope of desert dune, full sun. Well-drained calcrete sand. Native and
common, grazed by game. Dry thorny savanna, with Rhigozum trigotomum.
Acacia melifera, A. hematoxylon, Stipagrosris and Schmidtia.
Perennial prostrate herb, S-8 cm high. Thickened taproot about 30 cm deep.
Leaves alternate, simple, silver-grey, sericeus, lamina corrugated with sunken
veins, obavate, leaf margin serated. Flowers solitary, lemon yellow with creamy
centre. Fruit disc-shaped with thorny margins, 10x10 mm, greenish cream.
