Rolling drumlin plain two miles west of Browerville. Occasional to frequent in
remnant mesic hardwood forest patch (-25 acres) surrounded by cropland. Canopy
dominated by Quercus rubra, Q. alba, and Tilia americana. Understory of Acer
saccharum and Ostrya virginiana. Sparse shrub layer with scattered Dirca
palustris. Dark rocky loam. Level to gently-sloping drumlin top. Additional
associates include Carex radiata, C. pedunculata, C. intumescens, Thalictrum
dioicum. Hepatica americana, Trillium cernuum, T. grandiflorum, Geranium
maculatum. Athyrium angustum, Athyrium angustum. Maianthemum canadense.
Circaea lutetiana. Anemone quinquefolia. Sotidago Jlexicaulis, Sanguinaria
canadensis. Allium Iricoccum. Asarum canadense, Cryptotaenia canadensis.
