Habitat
Woodland dominated by Quercus rubra, Quercus nigra, Quercus alba, Tilia americana and Fraxinus saplings. Also being invaded by Acer pseudoplatanus, Acer platanoides, Aralia elata, Styphnolobium japonicum and Pyrus calleryana.

Description
Shrub 2 m tall, the taller stems dying back, the largest about 2 cm diam; leaves bright Tree 7 m tall, the trunk 35 cm diam; bark grey becoming shallow furrowed and flaky; leaves and flowers on short shoots; flowers white. There are four trees here all about the same age. This species appears to be increasing in abundance throughout the City. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
