The New York Botanical Garden Cultivated Plants of U.S.A. Aquifoliaceae Ilex opaca Ait. New York State, Bronx Co., Bronx, New York Botanical Garden. 40°51 ’54”N, 73°52’43”W. alt. 90 ft. Cultivated ornamental Ilex, no’s. Nee Wffi, 54728, 54729. A patch with Pinus strobus between the Museum Building and the Rock Garden. All have tags “764/41 PT L 764/41 Hicks Nurseries” and all are very uniform morphologically. Tree 11 m. tall, 22 cm. in diameter, with central trunk and smaller horizontal branches. Fruit red.
