Lewinskya rupestris (Schleich. ex Schwägr.) F.Lara, Garilleti & Goffinet, 29/11/2016
Note: fide Lara et al., 2016Orthotrichum rupestre Schleich. ex Schwägr.
Note: There is a note from Leo F. Koch April 1951 on this page that states: Californian specimens often have both capsules with papillose teeth or smooth teeth. If this is a genetic character in O. rupestre it does not seem to me to warrant a distinct species. Perhaps this should be O. rupestre var. texanum. Orthotrichum texanum Sull. & Lesq. = Orthotrichum rupestre Schleich. ex Schwaegr. see Vitt in Sharp et al Memoirs of the New York Botanical Garden 59:2:606 1994Orthotrichum texanum Sull. & Lesq. det E. G. Britton
Note: Author as Sull.
