Aragua: Parque Nacional Henri Pittier, trail to La
Cumbre de Rancho Grande-Pico Guacamayas, 1500 m,
67°39'45"W, 10°21*50"N.
Growing with Arthrostylidium venezuelae, on ridge
along trail to Pico Guacamayas. Plants in clumps, to
4 m tall, leaves erect. Blades to 2.4 m long
including the pseudopetiole which is not well defined,
and to 13-16 cm wide, abaxially somewhat glaucous;
midrib well developed, asymmetrically placed. Prop
roots well developed.
