Pastured slope near top of hill, edge of thin woods and open
pasture, with much invasion of Lonicera tatarica, L.
morrowii and hybrids (L. xbella) and more recent invasion
of L. maackii.
Shrub with several stems in a tight clump, 4 m. tall, the
stems to 8 cm. in diameter; heartwood brown; bark
shallowly furrowed and slightly flaky. Corolla white,
beginning to bloom and a few of the older flowers seen to
be fading to light yellow; anthers yellow. Voucher for wood
specimen, MADw.
