Tree, from grove planted in the 1930s for erosion control,
but this tree completely rotten in the center and perhaps
younger, 18 m. tall, 45 cm. in diameter. Bark thick, coarsely
ridged and somewhat anastomosing. Leaves just beginning
to emerge. Flowers pleasantly fragrant; calyx red-marked;
standard white with yellow mark near base within, the other
petals white.
Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Wood specimen
taken from a more or less erect upper trunk segment and in
good condition.
