Collected about 15.5mi SE of Fayetteville, on Rt.
87. The colony was quite extensive, extremely
floriferous, with a perceptable fragrance in the
vicinity and with a noticeable activity of bumble
bees among the flowers. The area was of the
sandhill-oak type. The corollas were pink with a
yellow eye. Cumberland Co.
