Mez Det: Julián Aguirre-Santoro 8/2015 PLANTS OF JAMAICA Bromeliaceae Hohenbergia penduliflora (A. Rich.) Mez Epiphyte growing on large Mango trees, cespitóse or solitary. Plant 1.3 m tall. Leaves forming a semi-spreading tank rosette. Sheaths pale brown on both surfaces, with adpressed lepidote indûment. Blades strongly coriaceous to succulent, green to light green and covered with lepidote indumenta, especially on the abaxial side. Scape 2 cm in diameter, green, sparsely covered with floccose indûment. Scape bracts dark vinaceous, soon turning pale brown, caduceus. Infloresecence rachis green with floccose indûment. Primary bracts similar to scape bracts. Floral bracts and sepals green. Corolla white, forming a tube and the spreading towards the apex. Stigma light green. Jamaica, Portland Parish: Blue Mountains.
