    Shrub 2.5m. tall, with arching stems to 2.5 cm. in diameter, bark stringy, light brown. One of the earliest flowering shrubs, nearly leafless but new leaves just emerging, with some green leaves from last year, these pale below; flowers fragrant; corolla white with tinge of pink, changing to light yellowish; anthers yellow. Same clump collected with immature fruit, under Nee 40417, on April30, 1991. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
