Very abundant in longleaf pine-scrub oak sandhills, by Springhill
Road and in vicinity of Lost Lake, Apalachicola National Forest.
Individual plants vary greatly with respect to the number of
flowering shoots arise from the crown of the slender taproot. A
few have more than fifty.
