  • Description

    Pileus up to 5.5 cm broad, umbonate, dry, squamulose, with pale brown squamules on a orangish yellow ground, with appendiculate, sterile tissue hanging from margin. Flesh white, unchanging, up to 1 cm thick, with pungent, almost sweet to almost foul odor, and mild taste. Lamellae adnexed to free, close, white, with uneven to irregular edges. Stipe 5-5.5 cm long, 1 cm broad at apex, deeply radicating, white to golden yellow at apex, with coarse orange brown squamules formed from veil and sheathing stipe. Outside of basal portion has gray recurved squamules.
