FORT BEND CO.: perennial; culms numerous from base,
rare in herbaceous vegetation nearly completely covered at
present by dense growth of Rubus trivialis and Vitis
mustangensis; in abandoned field (formerly cultivated?) on
essentially level upland underlain by Quaternary alluvium,
on soils mapped as deep, well drained, loamy fine sand
(Kenney Series, Grossarenic Paleudalfs), ca. 200-500 ft. S of
Old Richmond Road from points ca. 500-800 feet E of Red
Gully, at N29°38’02.2”, W095°40’16.4”. Elev. 80-85 ft.
NW comer of Cullinan Park in Sugar Land.
Associates included Argemone albiflora, Carex 34543, Cnidoscolus
texanus, Eupatorium compositifolium, Galium aparine, Medicago
lupulina, Passiflora incamata, Rumex hastatulus, Senecio ampullaceus,
Torilis nodosa, Valerianella radiata, Vicia ludoviciana.
