Valley 7.5' USGS quadrangle. T6N R14W, SW/4 NW/4
SE/4 section 20. Elevation ca 3005-3040 ft.
Herbaceous perennial, scattered locally in heavy soil
on steep eroding slope; caudex subterranean, root/shoot
system ± rhizomatous; herbage silvery green; leaflets
mostly cupped; flowers bluish-lavender with darker
longitudinal veins; center of banner white with violet
punctulations; keel apparently glabrous. Associated
locally with Eriogonum fasciculatum var.foliolosum,
Salvia apiana, Galium angustifolium, Eriophyllum
confertiflorum, Melica imperfecta, Eriodictyon
crassifolium var. nigrescens, and Cercocarpus betuloides.
