Distribution
RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Flora of the Liebre Mountains, Los Angeles County, California, U.S.A. Fabaceae Lupinus formosus E.L.Greene var. formosus Northeast summit of GRASS MOUNTAIN: north slopes draining toward Elizabeth Lake; south slopes toward Green Valley. Lake Hughes 7.5' USGS Quadrangle; T6N R14W, NW/4 NW/4 section 6. Elev. ca 4540-4560 feet. Somewhat flattened summit dominated by grassland with a rich diversity of herbs; unfortunately, also heavily invaded by non-native annual grasses, probably introduced by post-fire seeding after a recent local fire. Descending slopes clad in chaparral. Herbaceous perennial, occasional locally in grassland. Corollas glabrous, bluish-lavender; banner with white center bordered by violet. Timothy S. Ross 7673 Steve Boyd 4 May 1994 02597994
