Associates included Altemanthera philoxeroides, Azolla caroliniana, Carex crus-corvi, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Cyperus sp., Elymus virginicus, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Gleditsia aquatica, Juncus effusus, J. interior, Nelumbo lutea, Paspalum urvillei, Phalaris caroliniana, Rhynchospora comiculata, Salix nigra, Typha sp., Ulmus americana, Lemnaceae of several genera.
