In riparian woodland along nearly perennial stream draining nearly flat landscape of live oak woodlands and improved pastures underlain by Lissie Formation and Pleistocene terrace deposits, on soils mapped as very deep, moderately well drained, moderately acid fine sandy loam (Nez Series, Aquertic Chromic Hapludalfs).
