petals bright pink (not purple); locally frequent in young
deciduous forest on moist silty soils on nearly level upland
underlain by Quaternary alluvium, SE side of White Lake,
ca. 0.55 airmiles SW of jet. St. Rt. 6 (Addicks-Howell Rd.)
and Voss Rd., at N29°38’19.1”, W095°39’27.1”. Elev. 80-
85 ft. E part of Cullinan Park in Sugar Land.
Associates included Carex cherokeensis, Celtis laevigata, Chaerophyllum
tainturieri, Cornus drummondii, Galium aparine, Geum canadense, Ilex
decidua, Quercus virginiana, Ranunculus fascicularis, Rubus sp., Ulmus
americana, Verbesina virginica.
