Floodplain of Pine River, along old railroad grade, now a
hiking trail. Young woods and brushy edges, with Ulmus
americana, Acer saccharinum, Quercus macrocarpa,
Prunus serotina, P. americana, Zanthoxylum americanum
and hybrid swarm of Lonicera tatarica and L. morrowii.
Small tree 8 m. tall, 9.5 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood
specimen, MADw. Leaves glaucous beneath. Fruit
abundant, green, on hanging inflorescences.
