in open part of loblolly pine - post oak woodland on soils
mapped as deep, moderately well drained, neutral to slightly
acid fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs), on
very gently sloping upland underlain by Carrizo Sand, ca.
0.3 airmiles ESE of Hoppy Springs, ca. 1.0-1.1 airmiles SSE
of jet. St. Rt. 21 and F. M. 1441 NE of Bastrop, at
N30°08'22.7”, W097°12’59.3”. Bastrop State Park.
Smithville NW Quadrangle. Elev. 440 ft. Area burned
during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011.
Associates included Chrysopsis pilosa, Juncus marginatus, Monarda
punctata, Oenothera heterophylla.
