CUSTER CO: On steep, loose soil and
rock, just a few feet below northeast
side of ridge between Champion Creek
and Fourth of July Creek. Soil reddish
brown, presumably derived from a vol-
canic breccia and scoria. The north«
east slope of ridge forms a steep, al-
most sheer cirque facing Fourth of
July Creek. White Cloud Mountains,
Sawtooth N.F. 9500 feet. Growing with
Synthyris cymopteroides.
