Every year I give this lupine a different name. Truely I remember
it as being off white in previous years, and 1991 it comes up
blue with those dark purple individuals along one trail only.
The cows do eat it later in the season-well in 1991 due to bitter
complaints by me and some others the grazing pressure was cut
down in the Bridgeport area and it had not been grazed by Aug.
ist! Not all the cows in this area survive, and I have heard
cowboys wondering why. Perhaps it is the food they eat which,
when they first arrive, is lush and later is sparse indeed. I
suppose that Geum spp. are not very delicious cause they are
multiplying. Geum is not listed as poisonous, however. But I
wonder since it is not touched.
