Associates include Verbena halei, Polygala incamata, Castilleja indivisa, Monarda clinopoides, Krameria lanceolata, Callicarpa americana, Cynanchum racemosum var. unifarium, Ptilimnium capillaceum, Matelea gonocarpos, Woodsia obtusa ssp. obtusa, Mecardonia procumbens. Tree approx. 20 feet tall, low-branching. Tree in full flower, smelling of peaches. Bark is light gray with horizontal lenticels. Lat. 30° 17.73 N, Long. 96° 39.59' W. 311 feet elev.
