Large sedge meadow with many shrubby Salix, Spiraea
alba, surrounded by secondary forest with Populus
tremuloides, Abies balsamea.

Shrub with several stems in a clump, the stems to 6 cm. in
diameter, but at that size all now dead and being replaced by
younger stems; the wood specimens from stems to 3 cm. in
diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Staminate.
