Young tree with orangish-red flowers.
Old Bight, found along the old farm road that leads to Greenwood, just
behind the High School, in tha yard of a police officer's house.

The skin of the fruit is chewed or boiled and taken for diarrhea. The pulpy
seeds of the fruit are edible. Commonly planted as an ornamental, due to
the pretty orange flowers. Not previously listed as occurring on Cat Island
(Correll & Correll, 1982).
