of FM 696. 1.6 airmiles SSE of Blue. 5 yards off of road at entrance of private
drive. Deep sands along roadside. Associates include Phlox drummondii, Vitis
mustangensis, Yucca louisianensis, Gaillardia amblyodon.
Small field patch of cacti, each plant with 3-5 joints held mostly upright, some
at 45 degree angle. No spines, but many glochids. Flowers yellow with orange
petal base. Joints up to 14 cm long, 8 cm wide.
Lat. 30° 22.65' N, Long. 97° 7.73' W.	511 feet elev.
