Tree about 4.5 meters tall. Specimens with purplish-blue fruits. South of Salt Pond, along a trail that runs NE of the first abandoned house, 1.7 miles south of the Esso Station, on the east side of the Queen's Highway. House sits down a gravel road, on top of a hill. Beautiful non- disturbed old growth coppice. 23°19 00 N Longitude 75°07 00 W Berries edible and are eaten to give one "blood" if have "low blood." Also eaten for anemia and iron. Branches or roots often included in bush tea remedies. I fell out of the tree trying to get this damn specimen-Ouch!
