Aquifoliaceae Ilex verticillata (L.) A. Gray det. M. Nee, 2015 WISCONSIN, Richland Co., 3 miles SE of center of Richland Center. 43°1823N, 90°2018W. alt. 218 m. T 10 N; R 1 E; border of NW/4NE!4 and NE14NW14 sect. 35. Unshaded fenceline between cultivated fields of Zea mays and Glycine max. Flat, broad valley of Pine River, but just above the floodplain, unshaded, with Corylus americana, Phalaris arundinacea, Cornus racemosa, Sambucus canadensis, Ambrosia trifida, Ilex verticillata and saplings of Acer saccharinum, Quercus macrocarpa and Prunus virginiana. Patch (undoubtedly a clone) along 12 m. of frencerow, with many stems, to 3 m tall, maximum 5 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Staminate; petals greenish white; anthers yellow.
