Unshaded fenceline between cultivated fields of Zea mays
and Glycine max. Flat, broad valley of Pine River, but just
above the floodplain, unshaded, with Corylus americana,
Phalaris arundinacea, Cornus racemosa, Sambucus
canadensis, Ambrosia trifida, Ilex verticillata and saplings
of Acer saccharinum, Quercus macrocarpa and Prunus
virginiana.
Patch (undoubtedly a clone) along 12 m. of frencerow, with
many stems, to 3 m tall, maximum 5 cm. in diameter.
Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Staminate; petals
greenish white; anthers yellow. See Nee 61590 (fr, 8 Sept.
2014) and 62263 (fl, 16 June 2015), a pistillate clone about
50 m. away.
