Near ridgetop, brushy area formerly agricultural fields,
between woods on slope and prairie establisment on ridgetop.
With Cornus racemosa, Juniperus virginiana, Lonicera
maackii, Elaeagnus umbellata, Prunus serótina, Viburnum
lentago and planted Picea glauca.
Shrub 4 m. tall, 6.5 cm. in diameter, with a couple of smaller
stems, in a tight clump. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw.
Only a couple of plants seen here and not seriously invasive.
Flowers abundant, sweetly fragrant, white, fading to pale
yellow, most falling even though kept only three hours in
plastic bag before pressing.
